Only at SFABF

We are so proud to debut Soliana Habte’s book, Save Your Selves this Thursday at the San Francisco Art Book Fair!

It is a beautiful case bound, 118 pages of commentary, color, photography, poetry, identity and healing.

sol1ana creates richly textured self-portraits, sculptures, films, paintings and collaborative group exercises to activate ancestral, futuristic patterns of freedom and conjure Afro-presence

they learned how to paint on rocks and socks in the backyard as a child in Kingston, observing how colors go together and the way air can smell and feel

a Black, Ethiopian, American, Afro Futurisitic, Queer, Non Conforming alien being, sol1ana is not subtle but they are at home on earth

they would like the right to exist peacefully, but recognizes that their existence is inherently extractive

this is their first book

Through The Void

✨New zine alert!✨

This zine contains scans, transcriptions, and documentations of the journal the author kept throughout their antidepressant treatment at a ketamine center in Brooklyn. Their hope is that you use these pages as your own form of therapy. Write reflections, diagram your thoughts, doodle, collage. Tape, glue, post it, sticker all over it. Make it your own. And next time you're in your own void, maybe this can help you through.

Jezz believes that personal transformation is a practice of collective change.

Based in New York City, they explore the intersections of self care and community care through their writing, performing, speaking, and facilitating.

You can learn more about them at jezzchung.com and @jezzchung across social media.

Through The Void is now available in our WEBSTORE

San Francisco, CA. June 2022 - This July marks the much-anticipated return of the San Francisco Art Book Fair (SFABF) at Minnesota Street Project (the Project) after a two-year pandemic break. The SFABF will debut Thursday, July 14 with a special preview from 6pm to 10pm and continue Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17. All four days are free and open to the public. Launched in 2016 as a joint collaboration between Colpa Press, Minnesota Street Project, and Park Life, the fair’s popularity has grown steadily over the past six years. As of 2019, the SFABF had welcomed more than 50,000 visitors from the Bay Area and beyond. This year the fair continues to expand its horizons, offering more programming at three different on-site venues, new exhibitors, and exciting fundraising editions from world-renowned artists.

The mission of the SFABF is to foster the unique and diverse art publishing community of the Bay Area while providing a platform for national and international publishers to exhibit their work to new audiences. The four-day annual event features a unique selection of artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, zines, printed ephemera, and artists' multiples. These items are presented by over 130 publishers, antiquarian dealers, artists, and galleries from the Bay Area and around the world.

This year the SFABF will feature an outdoor Zine Tent, located behind the Project on Tennessee St., that will host 38 publishers whose practices are dedicated to accessible and inventive forms of bookmaking.

Can you believe? This is going to be our first year ever tabling SFABF, one of our all-time favorites. Catch ya in the zine tent July 14-17! #SFABF2022

β€œoutside @irrelevantpress takeover at @aggregatespace. struck by how friendly this art is - art spun and lifted by friendship. the power, river changing course power, of just two sentences: β€œyou are an artist. you are my friend.” friendly not as a synonym for outgoing or extroverted, but as a synonym for counterintuitive, disadvantageous, fair.”
