hey again,
So if you are Oakland Loakcal you will know that we love E.M. WOLFMAN GENERAL INTEREST SMALL BOOKSTORE (and you do too). If you are not local (i.e. Holly & Sarah) then you should go to their website RIGHT NOW and look at all the marvelous things and pretend you are actually inside the store.
But we are not here to only promote Wolfman Books in a non-specific way, we are here to say that our talented member, jack of all trades, dear friend HOLLY MEADOWS SMITH wrote a piece for their new Quarterly Magazine! (A real life published mag filled to the brim with people we know and admire) It's all about the most inspiring people we ever did know, Unity. You can even check it out here.
That's not all - our printer of printers, man about town, meticulous and selfless member MOLLIE UNDERWOOD made 1,300 holiday cards for the said store! They are 4.75 x 4.75, red riso inked, scored and folded 80# uncoated card stock, and there are 13 of them! The cards are not only clever and funny, they're useful too! Send them to your estranged child, your step-aunt, your eldest sister's ex girlfriend, the possibilities are truly endless. Go to the 13th Street store and see them all for yourself.
What a crazy-fun weekend!! Ebabz was a blast, the afterparty, the Wolfman New Life Quarterly release, and then Max's Garage's print sale is always the very best. Thank you to everyone who already bought a calendar! We are just about sold out of the first run (order quick if you need one for a holiday prez), but working on the second edition next week. Stay tuned
lizz was there! and super helpful! and sold lots of things and made new friends and gave away bags and got mollie a cool riso zine, we swear!!
8th Annual East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest
Saturday December 9
11AM — 5PM
Omni Commons, Oakland
This was a really unique and special one! Anya Kauffman designed a 28 page (two 14 pg signatures), 8.5"x8.5" journal inside a wrap-around cover with a .25 inch spine! Not only that though, she is going to machine sew each one!
Such a cool way to share your thoughts, drawings, quotes and musings with your loved ones.
